Breastfeeding Celebration Week - 21-27 June 2021

#BreastfeedingCelebrationWeek! This year's theme is encouraging the wider family to support with breastfeeding. Visit @NHS_Parents for information: nhs.uk/start4life/baby/breastfeeding/

Partners play a vital role in providing support with emotional wellbeing, which can be crucial to continue breastfeeding when things get difficult. If you're supporting your partner to breastfeed, this can provide a great chance to bond with your baby too. For example, preparing your baby for feeding and doing skin to skin. Give it a go!

Tips for partners to support with breastfeeding on @NCTcharity: nct.org.uk/baby-toddler/feeding/tips-for-dads-and-partners/how-can-dads-and-partners-support-breastfeeding

Your midwife and health visitor play an important part in supporting breastfeeding; reach out to them if you feel like you need support. Further information and guidance on breastfeeding can also be found in your baby’s red book.

Every breastfeeding journey is unique, but remember you are not alone. Try to stay connected if you feel you need extra support. @NHS_Parents lists breastfeeding helplines such as @NBHelpline, support groups and tools: nhs.uk/start4life/baby/breastfeeding/breastfeeding-help-and-support/

Feedback from parents and carers on our previous EYFS session was extremely positive:

"The session helped me understand what staff are observing and recording about the children's activities and what, when, how and why some of this will be passed on to parents as well as other people/organisations".

"I found it very informative as I hadn't fully appreciated how the various learning throughout the nursery stages feeds into the process of starting school."
